Colon screening
There is now another option to colonoscopy - a less invasive outpatient procedure which can be offered to patients as part of a colon cancer screening package
CT Colonography is designed to study the colon and surrounding anatomy, in order to detect polyps and lesions that could be indications of a colorectal cancer. CT can produce 2D and 3D images of the entire colon and rectum. It is less invasive than conventional colonoscopy and can be performed on an out-patient basis.
Cardiac CT scans
CT offers an alternative to conventional angiography for
evaluation of the coronary arteries. It is a non-interventional
procedure and will not require a stay in hospital. It is particularly
suitable for patients who have cardiac type symptoms but who are
otherwise at low risk of coronary artery disease.
